EPFO has released a new update regarding UAN number activation and the Aadhaar link. According to the recently released update, people whose UAN number is inactive in their EPFO account or Aadhaar card are unlinked. They should update it by February 15. For your information, let us tell you that EPFO had fixed the date for Aadhaar linking till January 15. However, for their EPFO customers, they extended it by a month. Whose date is now applicable till February 15.
During this time, PF account holders should activate UAN and complete the process of linking Aadhaar to it. Those who have not done this work by the due date may face problems later. Also, people whose UAN is inactive will not benefit from the Employment Linked Incentive – ELI scheme.
This scheme was announced during the budget released on February 1 2025. Whoever is eligible for the benefit should activate their UAN before the due date. Along with this, they should also link their bank account and Aadhaar card to it. The UAN number is the digital ID. Through which users can access their EPFO account. In this, they can get information related to PF. They can also avail of the facility of deposit amount, claim, etc., in a PF account.
How will the UAN number be activated?
The process of activating UAN in EPFO is very simple. In this, you have to go to https://www.epfindia.gov.in website. You will get the option to activate UAN in the footer section below, from where you can activate it by entering the UAN number. You can contact your HR department if you do not know the UAN number. EPFO also provides the facility to know UAN. In this, you must have an Aadhaar card, date of birth, and phone number linked to the Aadhaar card. The Know Your UAN option is available on the website itself. This is where information about UAN numbers can be obtained.
